It's Saturday and I am ecstatic!

Plaid shirt- GAP (the boyfs shirt :D)
Tank- Urban Outfitters
Jeans- American Eagle Outfitters
Boots- Dr Martens, 1460 vegan boot
Belt & Socks- H&M

Just ended my first week at my new office job and whoo, that was a lot to take in. I survived and now it's time for the weekend! Having to wear "business attire" to work is really cramping my personal style, so I'm so glad I'm able to wear what I want on the weekends.
I started out with my boyfriends plaid shirt from the GAP. I LOVE this shirt, it's so comfortable and cozy & always smells like him. I wanted to mix some prints so I added a camouflage tank underneath.

Oh how I missed wearing jeans. For today's look I wanted something fitted and classic since I'm wearing something loose and kinda funky on top. I went with these vintage wash jeggings from AEO. These are the best jeans ever! They hug in all the right places are are the perfect length. Definitely recommend for any curvy girls looking for good skinny jeans. Paired them with my favorite burgundy belt from H&M.

Boots! It's finally that time of year when boots can be an everyday thing. For today's look I wanted to wear my vegan Docs. I could live in these boots forever. Because they're vegan, they're super soft straight out of the box (so no blisters trying to break them in). They have this candied apple color that literally goes with everything. They make me feel like a badass (haha). I paired them with my favorite ruffle socks from H&M.

And there you have it. My "weekends are the best because I can wear what I want" ootd. What are you wearing?

Channeling my inner farmer

Overalls- TopShop
Tank- Urban Outfitters
Sandals- American Eagle Outfitters

***************************************

Overalls; who would've thought these bad boys would make a come back? Not me, but I'm so glad they did! They're so fun and versatile, you can literally wear them with anything. For today's look, I paired my TopShop light wash overalls with this faded army fatigue tank for Urban Outfitters. For my shoes, I threw on my absolute favorite studded gladiator sandals from American Eagle. Nice sweet and simple. Gotta love overalls! Haha.
How would you guys wear overalls?

It's rainy, it's hot, and my outfits confused..

Tank- PacSun
Jeans- American Eagle
Boots- Steve Madden

*********************************

Rain in a heat wave; the most confusing time to dress oneself. Haha. Seriously though, finding something to wear in this weathers a little hard. I didn't know if I should wear a t- shirt, a tank top, a sweater, jeans, a skirt, boots or sneakers; this weather is just too weird. In the end I decided on a tank, some jeans and boots. This way of it does start raining again I'll be cool in the tank and dry with the jeans & boots. I chose this striped skater tank from PacSun (I love that is says "Shred till ya dead"). I went with these faded black jeggings from American Eagle for two reasons; 1. They're really light weight so I won't be too hot in them and 2. They have rips to let a little breeze in (lol). And lastly I threw on these brown Steve Madden combat boots because they're more breathable than my docs and, since I don't have rain boots, these keep my feet driest.
So that's my look for today. What do you guys wear in this weird weather?

Hope I'm work appropriate....

Plaid shirt- H&M
Tank- Urban Outfitters
Skirt- American Eagle
Boots- Zara

***********************************
So today's another hot one and with that comes the torture of having to find a work AND weather appropriate outfit. I work retail, so you'd think it wouldn't be too hard to find something to wear, but let me tell you, it's impossible! If I wear something appropriate for work, chances are I might get a heat stroke. If I wear something appropriate for the weather, chances are I'm going to get fired (okay maybe not fired but it wouldn't be good. Today I tried really hard to balance the two. I started with the skirt since its the one piece of my outfit that's actually from  my job (lol!). This skirts really short, so I knew I'd have to balance it with something longer & looser up top, so I chose this lightweight plaid button down from H&M. This fabric is so light and flowy it almost feels like you have nothing on, which is perfect for the weather. I added this plain white tank to offset all the dark fall like colors. Added boots for a badass touch and voila, my work AND weather appropriate outfit of the day.
So, what do you guys think?

Daisies, gladiators, and curly hair

Dress- H&M
Sandals- American Eagle

***********************************
Haha, I love how my outfit details list becomes shorter and shorter as the weather gets hotter. This heat has me delusional so to stay cool, I threw on this lightweight sun dress from H&M. Even though its black, the lightweight fabric of this dress, as well as the mini length, makes it an ideal piece for a hot summer day. The cute little daisies give it just the right amount of girly playfulness. I paired it with these gold gladiator sandals from American Eagle Outfitters (picked out by my boyfriend, he has such a good eye! Lol). I left my hair crazy curly, which I do almost always in the summer.
What do you guys where when its really hot out?

Man it's HOT!

Crop top- Kylie & Kendall for Pacsun
Skirt- Aerie
Sandals- American Eagle Outfitters

************************************

Woo, today is a hot one! It's sometimes hard to find a weather appropriate look that's also work appropriate. For this look I really wanted to wear this crop top so I paired it with this semi see through higher waisted skirt. It's going to keep me cool while also not being too revealing. I finished the look off with these leather gladiator sandals from AEO. What do you guys wear to work when it's hot out?

First official day at Journeys!

Jacket- vintage Army jacket (stepdads)
T-shirt- Brandy Melville
Jeans- American Eagle Outfitters
Belt- H&M
Sneakers- Vans, classics

****************************************

So today I start my new job at Journeys! I'm so excited & a little nervous. I wanted to keep my look simple & comfortable so I decided on this super soft short sleeves tee from Brandy Melville & paired it with my faded black jeans from AE. I wanted to add a little pop of color so I added this aqua belt from H&M (only $5!). To finish off the look with a little more color blocking, I threw on my old beat up maroon Vans. Added my stepdads old army jacket bc it's just a little bit chilly outside. So there we have it. My causal, comfortable, simple, cool look for my first day at Journeys. Wish me luck!

Memorial Day!

Plaid top- H&M
Crop top- Brandy Melville
Cut offs- American Apparel
Sandals- American Eagle Outiffers

**************************************

Happy Memorial Day! For today's look I wanted to keep it easy & simple, since I'm going to be out of the house most of the day. It's warm today so I paired some American Apparel high waisted jeans that I cut into shorts with a crop tank from Brandy Melville. I threw on this sheer really light weight plaid button down from H&M to give the outfit some balance. Finished the look off with these studded brown leather sandals from AEO. What are you wearing this Memorial Day?

Prepster in an Oxford

Oxford & jeans- American Eagle
Sneakers- my favorite blue low top Converse all stars from 7th grade :)

*******************************************

Oxford shirts, in my opinion, are the best shirts ever. They're practically unisex (depending on the cut) they're versatile, flattering, and they come in so many different shapes sizes and colors you're bound to find a few that you love. And they're  not just for work as some of you may think; they're totally appropriate For any occasion. Its all about how you wear it. The Oxford I'm wearing today is a mens, green pinstriped piece from AE. It's so comfortable & breathable. Since this is a men's shirt, it's really structured and has nice clean lines. To balance that out I paired it with some ripped jeans & beat up chucks. The green of the shirt & the blue of the Converse compliment each other so well. Since I'm just going to work I kept my outfit simple, but you can go so much farther with this look. I think it'd look really good with a chunky gold necklace and some arm candy. How will you dress up (or down) your Oxford shirts?

It's a rainy day, but at least I get paid

Scarf- American Eagle Outfitters
T-shirt- Aeire fit
Jeans- GAP
Sneakers- Vans, low pro

***************************************

Spring is always a beautiful time of year. Everything's coming back to life, the weather warms up, people seem to be happier; but along with all the good stuff comes the rainy, gloomy days. Your allergies are acting up, you don't know what to wear because its warm but also kind of chilly (and you don't want to get wet) your hair frizzes up & you just really don't want to leave your bed.
Today is one of those days for me. So for my outfit I kept it pretty simple. A t-shirt and some jeans. There are A MILLION different ways to wear a t-shirt & jeans and one day, I promise, I'll show you a few. I wore my navy blue tee & light wash bf jeans with my red Vans because I'm a sucker for any red white & blue combo. I threw on this really cute printed scarf just to add a pop of color & give the eye somewhere to linger.
So that's my look for today. Not my best it certainly not my worst, haha. Hope you all have a good one ✌

Cool & casual

Top- American Eagle
Pants- Forever21
Sneakers- Vans, low pro

*******************************
It's getting warmer! And with that warmth comes the on going battle of what's appropriate for work. I work at American Eagle, so it's not such an ordeal finding what to wear for work. For today, I wanted a look that kept me cool (it's going to reach close to 80 degrees today!) and was also modest & good for work. I chose this really light weight, white cotton button up from AE. It's really breathable and has a cute little keyhole in the back (I should've taken a pic!!). For the bottoms I threw on these really cute, also lightweight slacks from Forever21. The floral print, zippers, and string belt on these are so cute & keep them from looking dated. I threw on my red Vans for shoes to keep from looking too dressy. And there you go, cool & casual, done my way :)

I love the low back & bow details on this Forever21 dress. i threw on my favorite boots to add just the right amount of edge. What did you wear this Mommy's day?

Work now. Party later!

Denim shirt- American Eagle (dip dyed by me)
Tube top- Aerie
Pants- H&M
Sandals- Forever21

************************************

It's such a beautiful day! Unfortunately for me, I have work :(
So to help cheer me up, I wore my favorite denim shirt! Denim shirts are great because you can dress them up or down. They're thick enough to wear as a shirt by itself but also light enough to wear over another shirt as a jacket. Never a plain Jane, I dip dyed mine in a pot of bleach until the bottom reached the perfect shade of yellow, the top still dark blue & the middle a nice swirl of the two.
After work I'm heading to a BBQ, and this outfit also works great for that day to night look, all I have to do is uncuff the sleeves of my shirt & roll down my pants & I'm ready for that night time cool down.
What's your favorite denim shirt look? :)

Sunny day, sunny shoes, sunny Joslynn

Cardigan- Aerie
Top- H&M
Jeans- American Eagle
Shoes- GAP

********************************

The weather is getting so much nicer here in New York. The sun is bright & shining & the sky is a beautiful clear blue; I wanted today's outfit to reflect that. I kept it simple with a plain beige, light weight cardigan from Aerie, a pretty bright blue hi-low top from H&M, and basic blue jeans from American Eagle. I played up the bright colors of this sunny day in my shoes; a pair of colorfully striped espadrilles from the GAP. Bright sunny days make me happy. Getting to dress for this weather makes me even happier :)

As kids, we like to play dress up. We pretend to be princesses or superheroes and it's a really fun time; but who says dress up is only for kids? I love dressing up! While I stick to being myself, I still love enjoy the fun there is to be had in putting on a bunch of different outfits and seeing what looks good and what doesn't. This is perfect way to see what pieces in your closest look good together. It's also a good way to see what still fits and what doesn't if you need to downsize. So next time you're bored at home go ahead & do some dressing up :)

Channeling my inner.... Indie hippie? Sure.

Hat: GAP
Vest: American Eagle denim jacket; sleeves cut off
Sweater & Skirt: Brandy Melville
Crop tank: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Dr. Martens, Luana Boot

*******************************************

Digging the feel my hat gives this look. During the Spring, (or any other season for that matter) hats can be a great way to change the look or feel of an outfit. Throw on a baseball cap & you've got casual. Newsboy or fedora & you get a vintage feel. Not to mention, if you're like me, hats can be a great way to cover up wild & unruly hair for days when you just can't be bothered. So go out & try some hats on! Find a great style you can incorporate into your wardrobe & have fun with it 😄

The New Icons...

Top & belt- H&M
Jeans- American Eagle
Shoes- Steve Madden

*******************************

Back in the day, the style icons we turned to when in need of some fresh new fashion ideas, were usually celebrities, models, big time designers or stylists. Now, in the Internet age, the people we turn to more are style & fashion bloggers, regular people you would see on the street. It's so much more fun seeing looks we would like to try ourselves on people who are very much just like us. A blogger can show you how to put together great looks within an affordable budget, and they also come in all shapes, styles, and sizes so finding a blog just for you should be a breeze with some research. So go ahead and look for a blog to follow (or stay right here with me 😊) and find your new style icon!
