Easy on Sunday morning

Entire outfit- American Eagle outfitters

Today was my last official day at American Eagle Outfitters and it was a bit bitter sweet. We had a meeting at 7am, so the first thing I thought when I was picking out my clothes was comfort. The second thing I thought about was what style I wanted to convey today. In the end my hippie boho side won out.
I started out with my long, flowy brunch tank from AEO. It's super soft and comfortable and has an open back. It gives off the most easy going laid back hippie vibes. I added a lace bralette from Aerie underneath since the back is open.

For my bottoms I knew right away I was going to go with my vintage wash Artist jeans, again, from AEO. These jeans have the perfect flair bottoms that aren't too wide and they sit comfortably on the hips. The fading in the thighs give it that worn vintage look and it also makes them really flattering on curvy girls with bigger thighs (like me!). I got them in the shorter length since I have short legs & it hits just at the top of my foot. They're perfect for the hippie boho look I was going for.

Although there's this stigma that black & brown should never be worn together, I feel like you could never go wrong with a pair of brown sandals. My favorites are these studded gladiators from, where else, AEO. These sandals are so comfortable! They're real leather and suede so they keep up with the hippie look as well. I've had these for years & I wear them with everything.

To finish off my look, I added this leather, floral, headband from (surprise, surprise) AEO. I absolutely love this headband because of its neutral colors and the fact that it's a tie on as opposed to elastic. You can tie it to fit exactly how you want so no headaches and no hair getting caught. I also love that it's leather so it'll last me a while.

And that's my easy going, hippie boho, outfit of the day for this Sunday. What are you wearing?

American Apparel bodysuits are my favorite things ever

Top- Bodysuit from American Apparel
Shorts- cutoff jeans from American Apparel
Shoes- maryjanes from TopShop
Cardigan- Ann Taylor

For today's look I wanted something comfortable, classic, and simple. I started out with my white bodysuit from American Apparel. This piece is so comfortable and is perfect for tucking into high waisted (or regular) bottoms.

Yesterday I wore jeans and I was sweating like a sinner in church so today I went with a pair of cutoffs I cut myself out of some classic high waisted American Apparel jeans (seriously AA just hire me already so I can afford all your stuff). I love the look of a plain white top with classic blue jean bottoms; so all American.

I always wear some form of sneaker whether it be Vans, Converse or running shoes; so today I wanted to change it up with my taupe maryjanes from TopShop. These shoes are so cute and girly and also keep up with the classic look. The taupe color allows me to wear them with literally anything and they're also super comfortable.

To finish off my look, I added my favorite blue cardigan from Ann Taylor. It's really light weight and soft so it's great to wear on days when it's kinda sorta hot and cool at the same time (lol). I love the it has really long sleeves & it hits a little below the tops of my thighs in length.

So there you have it. My outfit of the day for today. What are you wearing?

Is all black still chic?

Top- Bodysuit from American Apparel
Bottom- Hi-rise Jegging from American Eagle Outfitters
Sneakers- Nike Roshe Run
Button up shirt- AEO
Belt- H&M

It's Friday!! It's rainy & it's gloomy so for today's look I decided to do head to toe black (with a few exceptions). I started with this all black American Apparel body suit. It's super comfortable and flattering. It has a rather low neckline giving it just the right amount of sexy (rawr).

Since the bodysuit is tight & body hugging, I wanted to wear bottoms that would accentuate my shape, particularly my waist. I chose these high rise jeggings from AEO. The stretchy fabric makes them really comfortable and flattering and the higher rise shows off my smaller waist perfectly. I added my cheetah print belt from H&M to break up the black.

As for my shoes, I wanted to keep the head to toe black going; and I also wanted something comfortable since I'm on my feet all day at work. I went with my new babies! My black on black with mint accent Nike Roshe Run. These shoes are SO comfortable! The have this foam like insole that makes you feel like you're walking on a cloud! They're also super light weight and, of course, super cute.

Because of the rain, it's a little chilly out. I was going to wear a black sweater but decided my black top, pants, & shoes was enough. So, I chose my chambray button up from AEO as my cover layer. It's cute, comfortable & breaks up the black without taking away from the look.

There you have it. My gloomy rainy Friday, black on black on black outfit of the day. What are you wearing?

FEATURE OF THE WEEK: Demented Designs

"Demented Designs Custom made denim designs aimed to break the barriers of fashion and style."

That's the headline on the Demented Designs Instagram page. Breaking the barriers of fashion may seem like a hard task for some, Sammi Oyeniyi-Small, the founder and creator of Demented Designs, does just that.

It all started a year ago, around Sammis twenty first birthday. Searching for an original design to wear to her party, but having no luck, Sammi decided to come up with something all her own. After receiving amazingly positive feedback, and inquiries about how much she would charge to design denim for others, Demented Designs was born. In the year since then, Sammi has created many "dope", as the designer calls them, denim jackets including cheetah print, the American flag, and her favorite African print. Every piece is beautifully shredded or acid washed, perfect for trendy young people looking for something that's entirely unique.

Demented Designs was recently featured in a Grenadian Women's organization fashion show, where she and other up and coming designers got the chance to show off their one-of-a-kind original designs. It was at this fashion show, Sammi says, that she was inspired to cut and sew and start creating her own actual clothing pieces like dresses, pants and tops. Every design has its own signature Demented flair.

At the moment, Sammi is taking a break from selling her pieces in order to practice and perfect her skill set. She's eager to begin selling again once the fall rolls around, so look out for new jacket and vest designs.

"The support from my friends and family has been overwhelming and I'm so happy to have them pushing me to continue my creations." says the designer.

Make sure you check out Sammi's designs on Instagram @Demented_Designs and stay tuned for more from the budding designer.

Monday Funday!

Top- Brandy Melville
Shorts- Urban Outfitters
Sneakers- Vans Authentic x Liberty Arts Fabrics
Bag- Vintage Coach
Accessories- Brazilian friendship bracelet & free people hair tie

                  (boo dirty mirror)

This Monday is the first day in a long time that my boyfriend and I had the day off together, so we decided to spend the day running around the city.
I wanted to be comfortable to I decide to keep my outfit basic. I started with my favorite Brandy Melville sheer loose tank and paired that with my retro Urban Outfitters button up shorts.

Running around the city requires being on your feet, so I needed to wear some shoes that were super comfortable and, of course, super cute. I decided to throw on my authentic Liberty Arts Fabrics Vans. They also added some color to my otherwise colorless outfit.

I have to showcase the bag I was wearing. It's my hunter green vintage Coach bag. I got it for a really great price on Poshmark and I absolutely love it. It goes with pretty much anything.

For my accessories, I kept it basic. My usual friendship bracelet given to me by a Brazilian tourist, and my Free People hair tie.

So that was my outfit for my Monday Funday, haha. Leave me some feedback!

Liberty Art Fabrics & Pleather

Top- Material Girl
Jeans- American Eagle Outfitters
Sneakers- Vans authentic, Liberty Art fabrics

Today is going to be a long day. I have work at 8:30am and all I want to do is go back to sleep. Since I can't, I decided I wanted to be as comfortable as possible today; I grabbed my boy fit jeans from American Eagle & started from there. These jeans are THE most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever owned. They're really flattering on any body type (as long as they're your right size) and they have a distressed almost vintage wash.

Since my jeans are so causal and loose, I wanted to wear a structured top to keep from looking too frumpy. I chose this Pleather sleeveless top from Material Girl. It's pleather material helps keep the shape of the top and gives it an edgy, chic feel. It also has stretch in it so its super comfortable.

Using my shoes, I wanted to add some color to today's look. I chose my Liberty Art Fabrics authentic Vans. These sneakers have a beautiful paisley print made by L.A.F. and are colorful and vibrant. Vans authentics are my favorite sneaker, they're comfortable, versatile, and super cute.

That's my outfit of the day. No accessories except my friendship bracelet and I didn't do much with my hair. So, what are you guys wearing today?

Last nights look

Tank- Brandy Melville
Skinny sweats- American Eagle Outfitters
Boots- Steven Madden Grizzle boot

This is just a quick post about my outfit from last night. It was movie night so I wanted something that was comfortable enough to sit through a movie in, but still cute enough to show off haha. I decided to go with a sporty chic vibe. I grabbed my skinny leg, zip pocket sweats from AEO. These are super cute because you get the luxury of wearing sweats without the frumpiness of actual sweatpants. The zip pockets & zips at the ankle give them a bit of an edgy feel. I paired that with my favorite sheer loose tank from Brandy Melville. This is my favorite tank top ever. It's comfortable and goes with absolutely everything. I finished the look off with my Steven Madden Grizzle boots for an edgy chic feel and voila, my outfit of the night. What do you guys wear to the movies?

Sporty Spice

Top & sunnies- H&M
Shorts- Teen Vogue for M Style Lab
Sneaker- Nike blazers

********************************************

*************************************************

I have to admit that I was wearing a completely different outfit today, that consisted of jeans & a T-shirt; but once I felt how warm it was I decided to throw on some shorts instead. For today's look I wanted something that was sporty chic. The weathers also been a little weird (warm then cool, sunny then cloudy) so I also wanted something weather appropriate. I chose these shorts from Macy's new collaborative line with Teen Vogue called Teen Vogue for M Style Lab. They're a really light weight fabric so they keep me cool & comfortable. They're also really cute because even though they have a sporty vibe, the shine of the fabric and the material give them a chic look. For the top, I wanted something that would keep me warm for when the weather cools down, so I grabbed the light weight sweater from H&M. To complete the look, and to add a pop of color, I threw on my purple Nike blazers, and voila, my sporty chic outfit of the day.
What are you wearing?
(Wish I would've taken better pictures, I was running late & didn't have time :( sorry!)
